The „KWF Standard“ seal of the Committee for Forestry Work and Forestry Technology (KWF) is a sign for successful practical tests. The KWF usability tests include technical measurements, field tests and utility surveys. AN IMPORTANT MARK - THE KWF TEST SEAL A SELECTION CRITERION - THE CUT PROTECTION CLASS The EN ISO 17249 standard distinguishes between the following three cut protection classes: • Class 1 = 20m / s chain speed (standard) • Class 2 = 24m / s chain speed • Class 3 = 28m / s chain speed (highest protection) CHAINSAW BOOTS 29 In accordance with the EN ISO 17249 standard (cut protection), cut protection boots are part of personal protective equipment (PPE). Forest boots with cut protection meet special require- ments in terms of their shape and construction in order to protect against chainsaw cuts based on the chainsaw speed. The cut protection class provides important information on choosing the right cut protection boot. This indicates which chain speed the material used can slow down and thus prevent an injury.
